A Day at the Abbotsford Tulip Festival

Some days motherhood can seem a little daunting, especially when I haven’t made a plan for the day and the weather isn’t looking that promising. On this particular day I was feeling like I needed a little pick me up and our visit to the Abbotsford Tulip Festival was just that.

Rows upon rows of gorgeous blooms, really can you go wrong? I was blessed by the company of my sister-in-law and that she was able to capture some candid moments.

We joked that Sophie was more interested in the dirt and mud then the actual tulips, because well she spent most of her time hoping over the puddles (mental note: sandals aren’t the best shoe choice). Nonetheless, my morning mood was quickly changed around by the fresh air, lovely company and floral landscape.

  • A quick snap before we head out this morning, Sophie jumped in at the last second smiling with alllll her teeth 😍❤️ my shirt .. which is actually a bodysuit is @gentlefawn | hat @gigipip | shorts and cardigan @shophunnis | Hair curled with new wand from @conaircanada
  • May have gone a tad overboard on the swim gear a couple of days ago to get them excited for their swim lessons.

Goal: Can never be too prepared.

Reality: The whale floatie popped in our house the day I bought it, the morning of swim lessons was a rush to get ready, I regretted not findinng and organizing all their swimwear the night before, got breakfast through the drive through on the way over and somehow successfully completed day 1 of swim lessons. The kids were all smiles.... for the most part.
  • I was reading an article recently that said floral is the flavour of the year, thanks to the Royals serving a Lemon Elderflower wedding cake. Hopping right on that elderflower trend for this new recipe by experimenting with my new @sodastreamcanada FIZZI One Touch sparkling water maker.

Here's what I used: • @sodastream Sparkling Water that I created in seconds at home • Sparkling Elderflower
• Peaches
• Rosemary

Check out my latest blog post for the full recipe.
Fun Tip: Turn any favourite sparkling water recipe by using half as much sparkling water and adding in your wine of choice (doesn't hurt to top it up with more berries either 😉 )

  • On our way to drop this guy off at the airport again. We had five glorious days with him at home and now it's back to single momming it. #deepbreath
  • Picked up this wreath from @eucalyptuspopup today for a video shoot tomorrow (see my last post for what that’s about) and def think wreaths are perfect home decor all year round. What do you think?
  • A good night’s sleep makes a huge difference for how our kids behave throughout the day and how much energy they have to do the things they love!⠀
⠀
I’m super thankful for brands that strive to make our kids more comfortable and our job as parents easier.⠀
⠀
I’m a #GoodNites_Partner and working with them to teach parents about bed wetting, what causes it, solutions and to encourage all parents to know that these stages in childhood are normal.⠀
⠀
I’ll be sharing more about my experience in a video later this month, stay tuned!⠀
