Something that I have always wanted to do for a long time has been to make my own bath balms. There were a lot of things holding me back though, lack of knowledge in essential oils and the cost of purchasing large quantities of the items when I wouldn’t know for sure if it was something that I enjoyed. After my workshop with Tiny Fern this I week I was so impressed with Meghan’s knowledge and the selection of oils we had to choose from. Meghan had so much knowledge to share about which oils were safer to use for kids baths which made be feel super confident doing this workshop with her.
We started with lining up all the ingredients, this was actually the hardest part (and took the longest, for us!). Meghan shared which combinations would work well together and some ways she has mixed in the past, but let us have free reign to do what we thought was best. We let the kids all take a smell and choose according to their reactions to the scents as well. Roxann and Milo chose to go with a lavender scent with lavender seeds and Sophie and I went with an Bergamot, smelled just like Earl Grey, with Rose buds decorating the tops of the balms.
Our photographs take you through the very enjoyable workshop step by step. The entire process took up around half an hour (yes even with the kids!) we were all super impressed. This is something that they very much enjoyed and stayed pretty well focused the whole time. It would make a great birthday party for kids or ladies night/day for the us woman. Tiny Fern also offers a handful of other workshops that you can do with them teaching you or you can buy DIY kits to make them on your own body butter and lip balm. Check out their website for more information on everything they offer.
