How to Find Trendy Sunglasses for Different Face Shapes
Comments Off on Finding Trendy Sunglasses for Different Face Shapes

A few years ago when I got my first pair of prescription sunglasses I cared more about the brand name then I did about how the style fit my face. Big mistake. I found that I only liked them for a short amount of time. They didn’t “grow on me” like I had hoped for. With a need for new trendy sunglasses in my new prescription this has been top of mind. I’m reminding myself how important it is to shop for sunglasses that suit my face shape over the brand name.

I don’t think that I am the only one guilty of this. It’s common we see a friend or someone we follow on Instagram share something on themselves and instantly think that it’ll be just as good for us. Most of the time it works out, but I find for sunglasses you really want to take the time deciding. It’s important to try on all different styles and trends to see what works best, use the tips below to help get a good idea of where to start.

For myself, I feel like my face is shaped between oval and square. While an oval face shape is known to look good with almost any style frame, I also feel that I personally just have a wider face. This encourages me to pay closer attention to the width and size of the frame. I tend to lean more towards a trendy oversized look to avoid having the frames look too small.

I am loving these round Coach frames and were easily my favorite of five different styles I tried on last week at IRIS.

Trendy Sunglasses for Different Face Shapes

  • Heart

Find styles that have a small rim, something subtle that comes to a downward point. A narrow frame is also highly recommended.
Styles trending this year: Aviators and a subtle cat-eye.

  • Oval

Oval face shapes are known to look good with a wide array of different styles. If you are have an oval face, it’s easy for you to shop what you like before trying it on as you can almost guarantee the shape will be a perfect match.
Styles trending this year: Bold cat-eye, bold oval, classic rectangle, bohemian

  • Round

Look for styles that are bold and geometric. The geometric edges contrast well with your round face shape. If you are confident in large bold frames, these would be a perfect fit.
Styles trending this year: Preppy square, classic rectangle

  • Square

Opposite of what to look for with a round face, for square faces you want to look for curved edges. Soft curls will pair well with the chiseled look of a square face.
Styles trending this year: Bohemian oval, aviators, round

  • Just about to head to Whistler with this guy and so excited to spend some time just the two of us! It’s been a whhhiiilllleeeeeee
  • Part way through our lunch the kids started to bicker back and forth, creating a rather not-so-enjoyable moment for everyone. It's those moments that us as parents can make a difference, how we handle situations with our children allows them to learn and grow through our words and actions. We spoke about the importance of being kind and how much more enjoyable our time together is when we are all speaking respectfully and sharing. .

I then shared with the kids that that was exactly why I was taking a few pictures with our pizza, to share with others about the launch of @panago_pizza's 2nd annual Bullying Awareness and Prevention campaign. That Panago wanted to celebrate young people who are being kind and looking out for others in their communities. Our kids are learning everyday, it's our job to be great role models, encourage their kind behaviour and then celebrate them in their good choices. .

Do you want to take a minute to celebrate a child in your life? From now until Nov 25th Panago is asking for you to nominate a deserving youth and share a story them using compassion to drive change. Go to my stories for more info and the link to nominate #sponsored #asliceofnice
  • Hey 👋🏻 it’s kinda late... for some I suppose.. I’m usually up til midnight working away and wanted to hop on and share about my blog/small business journey. It was the start of this year that I really “proclaimed” this as my business and really felt so proud of what I’d created. It’s been A LOT of work to say the least but it’s brought so so much joy, opportunities and relationships. I love creating and sharing here, but most of all I love encouraging and connecting with YOU! Thanks for being here and for reading this. I think today I all the sudden realized we were in November and the end of the year is near. How did that happen?! If you made it through this little love note, share something about you below.. maybe how you discovered my blog/Instagram or what a goal is that you have? Excited to read through those comments in the AM.
  • That day we found a marble staircase and @juliechristinephotography made a fart joke. She gets me.
  • Proud mama moment. Sophie came home from kindergarten one afternoon reciting this Remembrance Day poem over and over. It’s pretty cute! Turn your sound on and listen too 😊❤️
  • This picture makes me melt. I set the camera on self-timer and wanted to get some action shots of the three of us working on the "do try this at home" section of the @guinnessworldrecords book. When I looked back at the captures and I saw Ezras very content grin, I just couldn't even. Seriously no words. It reminded me that our kids don't care how we show up (myself pictured with a messy bun & PJs), it's the time we put in that is remembered. •

#ad Thanks to @guinnessworldrecords for encouraging us to attempt one of their 5 maker challenges and seeing how much fun the kids had blowing up balloons and learning to make balloon dogs. After a few tries I completed on in 2 minutes, might not be the fastest time in the books, but we saw some good progress from my first attempt ha! If your kids love creating, reading about all sorts of random and crazy accomplishments then head to the blog and check out what's new in the Guinness World Records 2019 edition. #GWR2019
