Comments Off on Creative Wife & Joyful Worker Popular Posts of 2016

I was looking back on 2016 through past blog posts and noticing how far Creative Wife and Joyful Worker has come since the beginning of the year. At the start of the year I had no idea what 2016 would bring for the blog and could not have even imagined how far it has come. This year has been huge for meeting new people and networking, you can definitely say that I came out of my shell, a lot! I also recognize so much growth in my writing style and photography, which comes through when you look at the most popular posts of the year.

As I looked over my post from last year highlighting the top posts, I recognize some over lap from what was loved this year as well. Our gift guides and parties have definitely taken the cake for most loved posts over the years, and I have to say they are some of my favorites to put together as well. As the guides I love highlighting my favorite small shops and the planning parties is such a passion of mine that has totally flourished.

So here we have it,

Top Five Most Popular Posts of 2016 on Creative Wife and Joyful Worker

Number Five: 20 Baby-ish Baby Products for Momma

This post has been very much loved on Pinterest and it doesn’t surprise me at all to see it in the top five most viewed. I love that there are so many of you interested in the products that I use and was excited about trying for Evelyn. This post represents so much of why I started my blog and it is such a joy to see that I can successfully show support to the small businesses that I have come to know and love.

Number Four: A Success Story: Vaginal Birth after C-Section

Couldn’t get any more personal then this post right here. One of the things I am the most proud of for 2016 that I was able to put into words to share with all of you. Such a joy.

Number Three: DIY Unicorn Party Hats

This post was actually created in 2015 but it has been one of our most popular posts this year, through pins on Pinterst and views from our Stumbleupon account. My husband even laughed at me when I said I was going to share how I made the these hats, turns out it was a good idea to share after all.

Number Two: What’s Mommy Growing: Gender Reveal

With Evelyn being the first baby that we found out the gender before hand it was so fun to do a little gender reveal post and it got so much love. We created painted potted plants and used little signs to share the gender of our little baby to be.

Number One: Our Lookbooks [ Spring and Holiday]

The Spring lookbook is very very different from the holiday lookbook as I took on so much more with the holiday one teaming up with Julie and bringing all our own photography and designing each page to represent it’s own unique feel. These books were such a joy to make and wrap up in a nutshell why this blog started. Sharing the talent of others and supporting them along the way. It is such a pleasure to continue to focus on and highlight these talented makers that many of them I have personally come to know.

Thank you to each of you for your support of the last two and a half years of creating and sharing on Creative Wife and Joyful Worker. Your love and support is so so much appreciated. I started out thinking how cool it would be if even a handful of people would read each of my posts, no way did I think that hundreds and even thousands would come on by. I am dreaming big for 2017 and am so excited about what this new year will bring. Dream big and then dream even bigger friends.

  • Got to hang with some goats and do a little toga today, with about 400 other people. Have you tried goat yoga? Would you??
  • There’s some new faces around here and it’s been a while since I did a little intro, an about me per se... just a little bit more random.

1. I’ve lived in the same town my whole life. Some may think it’s boring.. I’d call it loyal 😅 .. either way, I know a lot about Abbotsford.
2. If you hold your hand up, palm facing away from you. Pull your thumb back and see how far you can go. Mine can touch the back of my arm, it’s forever been my “talent”.
3. It’s been 5 years (almost to the day) since I started my blog. Growing up I wanted to be a nurse, then went to school to be a police officer, changed gears into business and marketing, graduated with graphic design and its led me to hear. I never had big goals or felt like I was on the right path, but motherhood and this space has brought me all the feels.
4. We’ve been looking for land to grow some flowers of our own. My husband grew up on a flower farm (both the peonies and iris’ pictured are from their farm), property prices can just go ahead and come down a little now.
5. I don’t know if the feeling of being done is for real.. like we feel like we are done having kids but I’d be fibbing if I said it doesn’t come to mind every now and again.
.
That’s all for now friends. Share a little something about you below — say hi if you are new hear and thanks for reading til the end 🥰🙌🏻
  • Throwing it back to the other day when I went for an evening dip with my beaver @float.eh — it was such a hoot heading to the beach with @juliechristine_xo and gave me a peek into how much fun this summer is going to be.⠀ ⠀
#ad As you can see these aren’t your typical floaties... or should I say @float.eh ’s 😉 They are proudly Canadian, made with quality in mind. You gotta check out their website and see what other fun Canadian designs they have. [ go to float-eh.ca or see my story highlights for the link ] 🇨🇦
  • “When’s the last time you did something for the first time?” Those were words spoken to our group before starting our Tough Mudder course this past weekend in Whistler. Holy moly guys, I was nervous getting started on that course. Let’s just say... nervous shits are real 😅😂🙊 but that’s what makes it so great. Doing something that literally scares the shit outta you. We all pushed through, all 16km and 25 obstacles and it was FUN, hard but really freaking fun. Even though I’m hobbling around today, dang foot cramp (and literally sore all over) I’m so pumped on doing something new, pushing myself and having such an amazing group of friends tackle it together.

PS our men of tough mudder not pictured but SO equally appreciated.

  • Opened up my second Maple Box today and loving the natural and organic products that I am able to discover. The @hollowtree1987 candle and @sealuxe scrub are two of my favourites already.

I’ve loved how each box has introduced me to both self care and wellness products focused on creating healthier lifestyles. Head to @maplemagazinecanada to discover more info on ordering for yourself. Spring box available, while supplies last (and last I heard it was limited) #ad #maplemagazine #mapleboxcanada
