What a year we had. I had no idea what to expect with three kids and how the dynamic would change but I am glad that didn’t stop us. Evelyn came into this world two days before her due date (read about my birthday story here) and she has really lived up to her middle name, Joy. Our first year together has truly flown by and I can not believe that we’ve already celebrated her first birthday. Since we were in the process of moving I wanted to style a simpler party. For me that was a floral themed party.
Why do I think this party is considered simple. As I am sure a handful of you are looking at it like, um what that’s not simple? Here’s the thing, any party with desserts and large amounts of florals is going to look amazing. Besides the Simple Balloon Garland backdrop that is really all I did. Floral + Yummy Treats = Easy Party.
So let’s dive in shall we.
Floral Themed Birthday Party Highlights:
- Simple DIY Balloon Garland Backdrop
- Mini cupcakes topped with mini rose buds and rose petals
- Two Cakes: One for a statement piece (this one was actually a faux cake) & a smash cake for baby girl
- Gold stroked handmade Marshmallows
- Pineapple Sugar Cookies
- Macrame and flower backdrop for Cake Smash
- Mini wall hanging flower felt craft
- Floral Headband Crown for Birthday Girl
- Mini Sandwiches and Snacks Decorated with Florals

Sophie couldn’t resist a taste and her friends weren’t far away either. More photos from her cake smash here.
My grandma wore one of the party hats for almost the entire party. We couldn’t resist getting a photo of the oldest and the youngest (not quite the youngest at the party).
Thanks to my husband for letting me go “all out” for this floral themed birthday party. It is such a joy for me even though Evelyn isn’t going to remember the details, I really enjoy putting together all of the flower birthday party decorations.
It’s just one way that I can be creative and I think you can tell by my face that I am thrilled. The photo below this one is of my mom, my girls and my grandma. All the girls of the family.
