Jessie Farrell “Take Me Outside” Album Review

We don’t listen to very much ‘kids’ music around our house, well to be completely honest I don’t listen to a whole lot of music in general. I like music but I often don’t think to put it on when I am doing my daily routine. My husband and kids on the other hand L O V E having the music on. My kids lighten up and usually starting dancing right away.

It is so fun to watch them dance around the kitchen and living room. My son came and woke me up the other morning and proudly started showing off a new dance move that he had taught himself.

When I got my hands on the ‘Take Me Outside’ album by award winning Canadian country music artist Jessie Farrell I had already decided that I wanted to make more of an effort to play more music for the kids while doing our daily activities.

blog post review on country singer kids cd

The first time I played the “Take Me Outside” album my daughter and I both took a minute to absorb what we were hearing, it was different from what we were used to in our home, but in a second Sophie had a beaming smile on and started dancing.

We were dancing to the songs and the energy in the house was great. Jessie’s songs are very uplifting and positive. Yes, they are definitely focused to be played for children and no, I would most likely not play the CD if I was by myself. With my kids however, we love it!

The next morning when I put the CD on again Sophie recognized the music right away, with a big grin on her face she started moving her head to the beat. It was so neat seeing her recognize the songs and even catching on over the next few days to pick out which songs were most likely her favourites. (by increased dance moves! Haha!)

I found the songs to be incredibly catchy and even getting stuck in my head for the day, but hey that’s not a bad thing when the music is so positive – makes for a happy mood all day long!

  • Road trips with kids (and a puppy!) are always.... entertaining. ha! It took us over six hours to get from our house to Apex Mountain (which should only take 4 hours) due to one of our children getting the flu along the way. Thankful that we fuelled up with @shell and checked out their healthier snack options before we left. Now we can fuel up and get snacks we feel good about at the same time. What's the longest road trip you've taken as a family? #shellpartner
  • Someone hit the double digits today! 🤭🤭 Happy Birthday Ezra!! Can’t even believe we have a 10 year old in the house. At dinner tonight we were talking and James said, “Ezra you are in your double digits making me feel old.” ... and he replied... “you guys aren’t old most of my friends parents are in their 40’s” Do kids really talk about their parents ages? 🤣
