A couple months ago I met Angel at a Lady Boss event and it just so happened that we won each other’s products. She was the lucky winner or a blog post feature and I was so thrilled to win a pair of her earrings. It was 100% not planned and just something that worked out so perfectly. Before this event I hadn’t heard of Ace & Company before so the introduction to a new local company was so excited.

I love sharing about new companies that I discover and fall in love with. Angel is a super sweet hardworking momma who started up her business after being inspired by her son and showing him to follow his heart and set out to make his dreams come true. I love the beauty that each piece holds from the Ace & Company collection.

Ace & Company caters to individuals looking for effortlessly chic jewelry, every piece is created to represent individuals from all walks of life. Each piece is easy to pair with your everyday attire or out for your evening dates and arrangements. Learn for yourself about Angel and how far she has come since starting Ace & Company.

1. When was Ace & Company started and what motivated/inspired you to start your own jewelry line?

Ace & Company Designs launched in September of 2015. My motivation and constant inspiration has been my son. I really want my son to know that he can choose to be anything in this big world and that you should take a chance at your dreams. I know that the best way to teach something is to lead by example so I knew the moment I had him that I needed to take my own advice.

2. Where did your shop name come from?

Ace is the middle name of my son Valentino. When my husband and I were looking for baby names for boys we both fell in love with the name Ace, which means first in luck. Since my son is my inspiration it only seemed fitting that I named my company after him.

3. Choose two pieces from your collection to share a bit more on.

‘Jet Set’ earrings are one of our top sellers and a personal favorite as it can go with anything and everything. Classic enough to be worn to a wedding and simple enough to pair with jeans and a blazer.

J’adore‘ is a stretch bracelet composed of white howlite gemstones, accented with rose quartz chips from India and mini gold Swarovski pearls from Austria. This design is one of my favorites as it’s so simply romantic, which is why it’s called ‘J’adore’.

4. What makes Ace + Company unique?

Ace & Company Designs fuses together the small business charm with big retail business qualities. I inspect every material that goes into making my pieces to ensure that they reach high quality standards before I begin assembling them. I always make time daily to respond to comments and inquiries via social media and contact platforms.

All of my pieces listed online are ready to ship, there is no waiting for production time or a certain mail day. Once an item is purchased you will have your tracking within 24 hours. I feel these are the biggest company missions that demonstrate a perfect balance between small business charm and large retail expectations.

5. Which piece is your current best seller?

Ace & Company Designs current best seller is a tie between our ‘Modish’ bracelet of white howlite gemstones and our ‘Minimalist’ earrings of white howlite gemstone studs.

6. Share some goals/plans that you have for Ace + Company in the near or distant future?

One of my mission statements is to always be adding new products on a consistent basis so always check back monthly for a new item listed. I also recently began a blog on my website which I am planning on investing more time in to deliver content on cosmetics, fashion and home. Another big goal for the year is to expand to more countries. When the line was launched it was only available in Canada and now it has expanded to the United States.

7. What do you enjoy the most about having your own  business?

I enjoy the freedom and flexibility. There are days when I choose to start work at 9am and then others at 11pm. It allows me to prioritize being a mother first, as well as leave time for me to pursue my other passion of photography.

9. If you could share one piece of advice for someone starting out what would you say?

Just take the leap, and don’t be afraid. If you have a dream, a vision, a passion then you owe it yourself to give it a try. It’s important to remember that being afraid of failure is normal, but instead of using that feeling as a deterrent, use it as fuel to begin your new journey.

  • I’ve been trying to convince James that he needs his own “blog” Instagram account since he might be getting just a little bit more involved by the new year (starting with our holiday guide). I’ve almost got him convinced, it’s just choosing the handle that is the hard part. 😂 taking suggestions 👇🏻👇🏻 comment below something witty below... Keep in mind he has already declined “joyfuljames” (A little background of where CW & JW comes from, it’s mine and James’ initials)

  • Today’s slow moving, cozy feeling Saturday was just what I needed. Currently in bed with Sophie asleep beside me wondering if I should go to sleep or get my butt up and get some work done... decision decisions.
  • Have you heard the saying, "The Days are Long, but the Years are Short." Whelp, who's ready for the days to feel even longer with this cold draft called winter that just rolled in. I always find the days seem even longer when they are spent inside. With knowing that you are going to be spending more time inside it is important to think about the quality of air that you and your kids are breathing in. Fun Fact: Did you know that the air quality inside your home may be 5X worse than the air quality outside. Say What!? We've been improving our indoor air quality and warming up our bodies with the new Dyson Cool + Hot Link Air Purifier. Sharing more about this product (and why my Mom keeps saying she wants it for Christmas) on the blog. Click profile link.

  • As I was going to bed last night I was thinking about social media and how we don’t always “see the big picture”. I took this photo last night and went just close enough so that you couldn’t see the frying pan on the table and the fairy wings on the ground. While doing work I kinda thought maybe it was silly not to show the whole scene and didn’t post. This social media world is interesting, and showing highlights are definitely fun, but let’s remember they are just highlights. Behind everyone’s beautiful feed there is always a whole bunch of crazy, tiring, hard life going on. It just isn’t as easy to photograph and/or share. So here’s to trying to keep it real and if you swipe right you won’t see the frying pan but you will see the unedited version of this same photo. Crazy what a little brightening and filter can do. I guess what I’m trying to say and what I’ve noticed from my own experience is to be happy with what you are blessed with, don’t compare with what you see from others and always do what makes you happy.
