A couple months ago I met Angel at a Lady Boss event and it just so happened that we won each other’s products. She was the lucky winner or a blog post feature and I was so thrilled to win a pair of her earrings. It was 100% not planned and just something that worked out so perfectly. Before this event I hadn’t heard of Ace & Company before so the introduction to a new local company was so excited.

I love sharing about new companies that I discover and fall in love with. Angel is a super sweet hardworking momma who started up her business after being inspired by her son and showing him to follow his heart and set out to make his dreams come true. I love the beauty that each piece holds from the Ace & Company collection.

Ace & Company caters to individuals looking for effortlessly chic jewelry, every piece is created to represent individuals from all walks of life. Each piece is easy to pair with your everyday attire or out for your evening dates and arrangements. Learn for yourself about Angel and how far she has come since starting Ace & Company.

1. When was Ace & Company started and what motivated/inspired you to start your own jewelry line?

Ace & Company Designs launched in September of 2015. My motivation and constant inspiration has been my son. I really want my son to know that he can choose to be anything in this big world and that you should take a chance at your dreams. I know that the best way to teach something is to lead by example so I knew the moment I had him that I needed to take my own advice.

2. Where did your shop name come from?

Ace is the middle name of my son Valentino. When my husband and I were looking for baby names for boys we both fell in love with the name Ace, which means first in luck. Since my son is my inspiration it only seemed fitting that I named my company after him.

3. Choose two pieces from your collection to share a bit more on.

‘Jet Set’ earrings are one of our top sellers and a personal favorite as it can go with anything and everything. Classic enough to be worn to a wedding and simple enough to pair with jeans and a blazer.

J’adore‘ is a stretch bracelet composed of white howlite gemstones, accented with rose quartz chips from India and mini gold Swarovski pearls from Austria. This design is one of my favorites as it’s so simply romantic, which is why it’s called ‘J’adore’.

4. What makes Ace + Company unique?

Ace & Company Designs fuses together the small business charm with big retail business qualities. I inspect every material that goes into making my pieces to ensure that they reach high quality standards before I begin assembling them. I always make time daily to respond to comments and inquiries via social media and contact platforms.

All of my pieces listed online are ready to ship, there is no waiting for production time or a certain mail day. Once an item is purchased you will have your tracking within 24 hours. I feel these are the biggest company missions that demonstrate a perfect balance between small business charm and large retail expectations.

5. Which piece is your current best seller?

Ace & Company Designs current best seller is a tie between our ‘Modish’ bracelet of white howlite gemstones and our ‘Minimalist’ earrings of white howlite gemstone studs.

6. Share some goals/plans that you have for Ace + Company in the near or distant future?

One of my mission statements is to always be adding new products on a consistent basis so always check back monthly for a new item listed. I also recently began a blog on my website which I am planning on investing more time in to deliver content on cosmetics, fashion and home. Another big goal for the year is to expand to more countries. When the line was launched it was only available in Canada and now it has expanded to the United States.

7. What do you enjoy the most about having your own  business?

I enjoy the freedom and flexibility. There are days when I choose to start work at 9am and then others at 11pm. It allows me to prioritize being a mother first, as well as leave time for me to pursue my other passion of photography.

9. If you could share one piece of advice for someone starting out what would you say?

Just take the leap, and don’t be afraid. If you have a dream, a vision, a passion then you owe it yourself to give it a try. It’s important to remember that being afraid of failure is normal, but instead of using that feeling as a deterrent, use it as fuel to begin your new journey.

  • Just about to head to Whistler with this guy and so excited to spend some time just the two of us! It’s been a whhhiiilllleeeeeee
  • Part way through our lunch the kids started to bicker back and forth, creating a rather not-so-enjoyable moment for everyone. It's those moments that us as parents can make a difference, how we handle situations with our children allows them to learn and grow through our words and actions. We spoke about the importance of being kind and how much more enjoyable our time together is when we are all speaking respectfully and sharing. .

I then shared with the kids that that was exactly why I was taking a few pictures with our pizza, to share with others about the launch of @panago_pizza's 2nd annual Bullying Awareness and Prevention campaign. That Panago wanted to celebrate young people who are being kind and looking out for others in their communities. Our kids are learning everyday, it's our job to be great role models, encourage their kind behaviour and then celebrate them in their good choices. .

Do you want to take a minute to celebrate a child in your life? From now until Nov 25th Panago is asking for you to nominate a deserving youth and share a story them using compassion to drive change. Go to my stories for more info and the link to nominate #sponsored #asliceofnice
  • Hey 👋🏻 it’s kinda late... for some I suppose.. I’m usually up til midnight working away and wanted to hop on and share about my blog/small business journey. It was the start of this year that I really “proclaimed” this as my business and really felt so proud of what I’d created. It’s been A LOT of work to say the least but it’s brought so so much joy, opportunities and relationships. I love creating and sharing here, but most of all I love encouraging and connecting with YOU! Thanks for being here and for reading this. I think today I all the sudden realized we were in November and the end of the year is near. How did that happen?! If you made it through this little love note, share something about you below.. maybe how you discovered my blog/Instagram or what a goal is that you have? Excited to read through those comments in the AM.
  • That day we found a marble staircase and @juliechristinephotography made a fart joke. She gets me.
  • Proud mama moment. Sophie came home from kindergarten one afternoon reciting this Remembrance Day poem over and over. It’s pretty cute! Turn your sound on and listen too 😊❤️
  • This picture makes me melt. I set the camera on self-timer and wanted to get some action shots of the three of us working on the "do try this at home" section of the @guinnessworldrecords book. When I looked back at the captures and I saw Ezras very content grin, I just couldn't even. Seriously no words. It reminded me that our kids don't care how we show up (myself pictured with a messy bun & PJs), it's the time we put in that is remembered. •

#ad Thanks to @guinnessworldrecords for encouraging us to attempt one of their 5 maker challenges and seeing how much fun the kids had blowing up balloons and learning to make balloon dogs. After a few tries I completed on in 2 minutes, might not be the fastest time in the books, but we saw some good progress from my first attempt ha! If your kids love creating, reading about all sorts of random and crazy accomplishments then head to the blog and check out what's new in the Guinness World Records 2019 edition. #GWR2019
