I was day dreaming abut summer the first time I made one of these non-alcoholic sparkling mango slushie drinks. It’s the perfect drink recipe for a hot summer day, a little fancy but super easy to put together. Trust me, once you make one you’ll be dreaming about summer too!

I’m a fan of the popular social soda drinks from Brown’s Socialhouse that include soda water and flavoured slush. With that drink in mind, I wanted to attempt to make a healthier alternative. Well aren’t I glad I did because the result is ever better than I thought!

This year I happily joined a partnership with SodaStream Canada. SodaStream takes your tap water and turns it into a sparkling drink in just seconds. I am so excited to be invited onto their “Stream Team” and start sharing how we can change the world through bubbles.

SodaStream is an elevated way to stay hydrated, especially in these upcoming hot summer months. Sophie shared a little mini tutorial about how it works on our Instagram recently, but if you missed then you can see another tutorial here.

I love how convenient it is to make from home and how much the kids have enjoyed creating and drinking sparkling water themselves. We can create fun drinks in seconds with the SodaStream flavours and not have to worry about high sugar consumption. This is going to be a game changer in summer as it will take the stress away from making sure the kids consume enough water to stay hydrated.

Non-alcoholic Sparkling Mango Slushie Drink Recipe

*Makes Two Drinks

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Frozen Mango Chuncks
  • 2 TBLS Water
  • 1 Bottle SodaStream Sparkling Water
  • Ice
  • 2 Pieces Dried Mango (garnish)
  • Lime (garnish)

Directions:

  1. Add your frozen mango chunks (or desired mix of berries/fruit for slush flavouring) into your blender. Add about two tablespoons of water, should just be enough to soak into the fruit.
  2. Turn on blender and mix until your slush is thick and smooth
  3. Use your SodaStream, sparkling water maker, to create one bottle of sparkling water. Press down on your SodaStream until you hear 3 pumps to create the strongest fizz, hold down for less time if you prefer it not as bubbly.

  4. Fill your glass with ice.

  5. Pour your home made sparkling water into your cups.

  6. Slowly add your mango slush on top of the ice so that it rests on top. The ice will keep the slush frozen for a longer period of time.

  7. Garnish with a dried mango slice and straw.

Sophie loved being a part of creating this drink. She was the one that created the sparkling water from our SodaStream and helped me add the mango chunks into our blender. I was happy I could capture her as she took her first sip trying out our new recipe. It was no surprise that she loved the results.

We love using our SodaStream to make drinking water more fun. Whether it’s creating recipes like this or adding some of the SodaStream flavours. Both are great ways to get hydrated and reduce sugar consumption.

I hope you love creating this Sparkling Mango Slushie Drink Recipe, they are one fun summer drink that you can feel so good about drinking. We are so excited to share more recipes with SodaStream, make sure to come back and check those out too.

  • Hello! I wanted to welcome all the new faces around here as it’s been a while since I did any sort of introduction. So here is a little about how I started and a goal of mine, please do share a little about you, and a goal too!⠀
•⠀
I started this blog over four years ago while on mat leave with Sophie. I’d never met anyone who blogger, didn’t know a thing about building a website but had a passion for social media and a need for connection.⠀
•⠀
Six months later I went to school for graphic design and graduated from BCIT and Emily Carr in Vancouver a year later. It was a crazy year doing school and keeping this blog afloat — but I’m so glad I did it!⠀
•⠀
This space has grown into such a beautiful thing for me. A place to feel inspired, creative, encouraged and connected to so many others in the same and different stages of life.⠀
•⠀
It’s been on my heart (for over a year now) to create a physical place for connection, not just this profile on Instagram. I have no idea what it looks like yet but the passion is growing stronger as I feel I might start having more time to develop on this idea. I think I need to start taking some of my own advice, the same line I say to those wanting to start a blog but don’t know how. Just start, you’ll figure it out as you go.⠀

  • Has anyone else started to get that back to school panic yet? Like how the heck is it two weeks away?? I was talking to a friend yesterday about both our kids going into kinds this year and how strange of a stage it is. We’ve spent 5 years raising these little humans of ours and then off they go to spend most of their day learning. I’m super excited for Sophie because I know she’s going to love it, but that weird mom panic is starting to set in 😅 also! Ezra is going into Grade 4 😶 when did that happen?! He thinks he is going into grad 5 because he was in a 3/4 split last year and already knows everything that Grade 4’s would learn 🤷🏼‍♀️ he’s got a good argument but I keep telling him I’m pretty sure he’s going into grade 4 still, poor guy.

On a whole other note... Evelyn has started to master this whole potty training thing and I bought he some underwear cause we are fully committing (minus bedtimes) things really do happen all at once when it comes to parenting hey.. we’ve got all the feels happening today 😅😢😳😍😊🤔 ps: @peoplefootwear my kids want to thank you for keeping their feet stylish and comfortable this summer 😘 #gifted #peoplefootwear
