This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Burrard Hotel . All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve grown up living just outside of Vancouver, BC my entire life. Driving into the city for a little getaway is always something that I always look forward to. There’s so much to do and see, whether you are with your kids, husband or girlfriends. For this post I am sharing my top things to do in Vancouver, BC on a girl’s weekend.

Vancouver has a lot to offer, many one-of-a-kind locations including places to eat, store fronts, boutique hotels, waterfront views and much more. Keisha, Loving Littles Blog, and I spent a night in Vancouver recently and checked off a few from my favourites list below, can’t wait for another weekend in the city to do even more exploring.

Keisha and I stopped into Hunni’s Boutique on the way into the city, our outfits below are all compliments of Hunni’s. It is one of my favourite women’s boutiques around as they carry a number of brands and lots of local clothing and accessories too. It’s right off the 200th exit for a quick stop mid drive to the city.

10 Things to do in Vancouver, BC

1. Stay in a Boutique Hotel

1100 Burrard St., Vancouver, BC

One way to make your stay truly memorable is to experience one of Vancouver’s one of a kind hotels. I’ve personally stayed in a few myself and love what The Burrard has to offer for their price, amenities, cleanliness and comfort. I’ve never had a bad experience here.

From the moment you walk in the hotel and are greeted by their staff til when you leave you will know you are being taken care of. As you head up to elevator to your room a gorgeous courtyard greets you that makes you feel like you are in a tropical destination.

At the base of the courtyard is a beautiful lounge area complete with a fire place and hightop tables that are great for casual conversation and a relaxing atmosphere. Alongside those is a ping pong tables for guests to play and enjoy complimentary.

If you want to explore the city you can head out on one of their multiple bikes or for a more relaxing time rest in your room with a Nespresso coffee. For a full review of The Burrard Hotel, see this post.

2. Tacofino

8 E 5th Ave, Vancouver BC

Mexican. My absolute favourite thing to eat ever. Tacofino Ocho is located about a 10 minute drive from downtown Vancouver and is the newest Tacofino location. Different from the Yaletown location where you order as you enter, this location is seated and you are waited on from start to finish.

This past weekend we enjoyed their unique cocktails, their nachos were out of this world and then decided to share off their “share plates” menu. Delicious.

More about Tacofino: “From the back of a surf shop parking lot in Tofino, British Columbia emerged a concept – to infuse the experiences of our travels with our West Coast roots, and bring them to life in our beachside surf town … and beyond.”

3. Cafe Medina

780 Richards St., Vancouver, BC

Come early if you don’t want to wait, Cafe Medina is a hot spot in town. For good reason, I might add, their brunch is some of the best I have ever experienced. If you take a look at their menu online you can easily see that their unique combinations are intriguing and their presentation is mouth watering.

This past weekend was my first time at Cafe Medina’s and most defiantly not my last. I’ll be sure to come with a hungry belly as I’ll be eager to try more of their waffles and flavoured sauce toppings as well as another main dish. Better yet, order a couple dishes for the group of you and share, allowing you to try even more.

More about Cafe Medina: “Since opening in 2008, Café Medina has carved out a niche as a truly exceptional breakfast, lunch and weekend-brunch destination that effortlessly blends eclectic bistro fare, connoisseur-savvy coffee and sweet nourishment via the city’s best Belgian waffles.”

4. Watch the Sunset at the Beach

In the summer (or winter) heading to the beach to watch the sunset is one of the most beautiful ways to spend your time. It’ll be a great way to enjoy the beautiful views of Vancouver while having meaningful conversation with the people you are with.

5. Explore Yaletown

Known for the cobblestone streets, endless restaurants and quaint boutique shops Yaletown is somewhere you could spend a decent amount of your day. Our recent visit we popped into Karameller Candy and filled up a bag of both sweet and sour treats.

As we explored the shop we chatted with Karameller founder and discussed some of our favourites in the area. I always love to pop into The Cross Design and she mentioned some of her local Yaletown favourites include; Fayuca, Small Victory Bakery, Voo to See You, and House Special.

6. Elysian Coffee

When you head out for the day you have to make sure to stop into Elysian coffee for a drink and a treat. With four locations in the city, and one located directly across from the hotel lobby of The Burrard, you can’t miss it. Not only is their coffee well-known for it’s great taste, but their branding is eye catching and memorable. You can’t not Instagram that to-go cup.

7. Earnest Icecream

I have a hard time coming to Vancouver and not stopping at Earnest Icecream. This ice-cream shop creates some of the tastiest ice-cream around. You can come in for a cone, sundae, a pint and more. Some of my absolute favourites from there are the salted caramel and London fog. Make sure to ask to try a couple you’ve never heard of before as it may just become your new fave.

8. Shopping on Robson

If you have some shoppers along for your girls weekend you aren’t going to want to miss Robson street. It has a number of well known shops mixed in with some of Vancouver’s one of a kind. There’s lots of places to eat along the way to keep you fuelled while you shop til you drop.

9. Explore Gastown

If you are looking to go coffee shop hopping while discovering unique Vancouver shops Gastown is a must. On my last visit here I went hopping from Buro coffee, to Timbertrain Coffee Roasters and then up to Revolver.

Each spot has something unique to offer with a difference in taste and atmosphere. On my way over to Revolver I stumbled upon an Instagram shop I love to follow, ARC Apparel. Be sure to take a look inside as they carry locally made products as well as other carefully curated pieces. I purchased my favourite recycled leather DeadWood jacket and a pair of Melanie Auld X Jillian Harris heart earrings when I went in.

10. Bike around Stanley Park

As I mentioned above, with our stay at The Burrard Hotel we were able to take bikes out for a stroll. How beautiful would it be to get some exercise and spend some of your day going around Stanley Park and really taking in the beauty of Vancouver. A perfect way to make up for all the coffee shop stops and waffles you’ve just devoured from Cafe Medina, am I right?

Great ideas thanks! I’ll also recommend the Vancouver Art Gallery for a girls weekend in Vancouver! I went with a friend for the first time last year (not expecting much,) but was blown away by the experience. We both had a great time and felt elevated by the interesting art and the interesting conversations it sparked. They also have a beautiful cafe there with cute outdoor seating that makes you feel like you’ve escaped the busy city 🙂
