Three Years of Blogging, Three Tips and Three Giveaways

Last week marked three years of blogging. I knew it was coming up, but I didn’t remember the exact date until WordPress reminded me of when I wrote my first post. Holy that went by fast. I wanted to do a little something to celebrate three years. I’ve decided to share Three Things that I have learned since starting this blog as well as give a chance to win 3 items that I use and wear almost everyday.

Three Things I have learned since starting to blog

  1. Blogging takes a lot of work. Sometimes I think that the more I do it the quicker I will get at producing content, planning a party or writing a pitch. In some ways I do get faster, but then in other ways I always think there is room for improvement. I am always trying something new to keep it fresh and that in itself takes up the most time. There is a lot that goes behind a blog post, from the writing and editing to the photography and perfect light.
  2. Believe it or not, when I started blogging I didn’t realize that blogging can make money. I had no idea that I could turn my blog into a business, I always thought that I needed this big fancy website covered in ads and flashy buttons to make any money. One of the biggest things that I learned is that just being yourself, creating authentic content and having desired photography is so valuable to brands. It has been an amazing learning experience since I started to monetize last September, I know how I have so much more to learn too!
  3. People on the internet aren’t all creepy. ha! But seriously, I was so timid when I made my first few friends through my blog and Instagram. I remember feeling so guarded and unsure about putting myself out there and creating relationships with “these people”. Thank goodness I didn’t believe myself and just stepped out of my little bubble, I have been able to meet so many friends, not just for myself but for my kids as well.

There is so much that I have learned and these three things barely even scrape the surface. Though they are important, I feel like the sum up where I am at right now and the things that I appreciate. It is one heck of a lot of work, but when you work hard it does pay off and you can gain some really amazing friends out of it.

Now let’s get into these giveaways…

With the thought of celebrating three years I wanted to team up with some brands that I use on the repeat. You can often find me out and about with one or all of these items on me and I am so excited to be able to offer each of you a chance to win one of the three giveaways.

*Enter to win: Winner’s must live within Canada and the USA to claim. An email will be sent to the winner once Rafflecopter randomly selects the name. All emails entered will be automatically entered to my blog newsletter.

Giveaway 1: Beluga Baby

If you have followed me on Instagram or read this blog post, you know that I love my Beluga Baby wrap. Haley, the founder of Beluga Baby, cracks me up, when we email she is constantly making me chuckle. With Haley’s rockin’ personality she has also created one of my favorite baby products. This bamboo wrap is beyond comfortable and has become one of my go-to baby shower gifts because I honestly believe that every mama’s life will be easier with on.

Giveaway 2: Mint & Birch + DearLovesCo bracelet

Both of these shops are a huge part of my blog. Jessica from Mint & Birch was my very first brand collaboration where we traded product for images. While Julie from DearLovesCo I met just over a year ago around the time that she started DearLovesCo. These two talented ladies have come together to create something beautiful and unique that celebrates both of their brands. I am so excited to have the opportunity to giveaway one of their collaboration bracelets in honour of this blog’s third birthday.

I wear my glasses everyday, and always choose either my Kam Dhillons or my Main + Central pair from Clearly.ca over my other pairs. Their glasses are affordable, trendy and their shipping is always faster then I can believe. We are giving away any pair of glasses (lenses and frames) from Clearly.ca’s exclusive brands. I can’t even believe how much I have learned and the opportunities that have come my way just because I pursued an idea. An idea to share what I love with others.

  • When James and I first met (at a tight and bright birthday party) the first thing that I learnt about him was that he was a father. I’ve always known him as a dad and knew right away when I saw him interacting and parenting Ezra that he was marriage material. Love how he parents and fathers our children. Happy Father’s Day to this guy ☝🏻 love you babe! (Posting early cause I’m gonna try to stay off the phone tomorrow.. as a little Father’s Day gift) ☺️
