Weekend Wardrobe Packing List: Travelling with only a Carry On
1

Every time that I go away I always tell myself that I am going to pack less. Does it ever happen? Not often. I tend to pack last minute, without a list, and then just grab all the things. This weekend when I pack for Portland I want to do it differently. My goal is to pack everything I need for my four day, three night trip inside my carry on. With the help of Samantha of The Family Jewels and her Weekend Wardrobe Packing List I am pretty confident that travelling with only a carry on will be a breeze.

Samantha has a minimalist style and is always looking pretty dang good. With a number of trips under her belt and her fashion sense, I fully trust her packing list to be more then enough for a weekend. I have put together a little graphic for you to go off of when you need to create your packing list as well. Don’t forget to add your essentials, this list is for your wardrobe only.

A few more tips for your Weekend Wardrobe Packing List to be successful…

  • Choose neutral colours for tops and/or bottoms to give yourself more outfit options.
  • Pack your hat into your suitcase upside down, and fill the crown of the hat with rolled up clothing. Add clothing around the brim to ensure it does not bend.
  • Pick a bag that isn’t too large that can be worn for both day and night (ie. crossbody)
  • Pack shoes that you know you can wear all day!

Have fun and enjoy your additional time to have fun and not wait for your baggage!

  • Evelyn’s looking at me like... “really I’m stuck with you all the time now 🤷🏼‍♀️” and I’m like, “ yah girl.. triple chin and all 🤣😂” but seriously... When we hopped into the car today Evelyn declared, “ YESSS MOMMY! We go pick up Sophie and Ezzie now!! Yayyyyy!” Poor thing had four more hours till it was really time.

  • Getting new frames soon and want to hear what you all think. I picked out my top three styles and want to put it to a vote. Comment below which pair you like the best (swipe left to see all three)

I’m sharing all the details about my recent experience at @irisvisualgroup on the blog. Talking about what it was like going in with the girls, what age you should first bring your kids and what I’m going to start using during soccer games. Can you believe I have been playing half blind? Link in bio ( there's also more images of the three styles if you want to see before you vote). #ad #irisvisualgroup
  • Tomorrow starts the first full week of kindergarten for that confident girl on the right. I didn’t realize how emotional I was about the whole thing, until her first full day and I was basically a big giant mess. Here’s to hoping I can hold it together.
  • Overwhelmed by the number of you that responded to my stories today. Parenting is hard. Some days so much harder than others. The good thing is, we don’t have to do it alone. When we open up and share (like I did this morning to someone I’ve only met a few times) we give ourselves an opportunity to learn and grow. My hope for all of you is that through your journey, you constantly seek, grow and share. It makes a difference.
  • Drove out to @centralcitysurrey tonight with this girl. Lots of laughs as we tried on our five looks for this Friday’s fashion show! Say what!?
•
There’s going to be six of us walking the runway from 12:00 - 1:30 PM, plus tons of other activities happening right by the food court ($500 mall giveaway draw, selfie station, beauty demos and more) — come on out and cheer us on

  • I made simple syrup for the first time at home and two things:
1. DANG that's good!
2. It's WAYYYY easier then I anticipated
•
After cruising a handful of different simple syrup recipes online I combined a few that I thought would work, reduced the sugar and substituted cream of tartar for lemon juice. For some reason I never like to follow the directions the first time and always like to try out my own... it doesn't always work out, but this time it sure did!! You can see more of the steps in my stories for how to make your own simple syrup and sparkling water using the new @sodastreamcanada FIZZI One Touch at home. I always love when things turn out easier than expected! Does anyone want the full recipe on the blog?
