Who else out there has an overflowing camera roll and next to no printed out photos in their home? Guilty! What if I told you you could easily print these photos and Print Instagram photos at your house.

This week I had the pleasure of trying out a product from Canon Canada and I am hooked on how easy it was to set up and print high quality photos right from my computer desk. To be honest at first I was a little bit daunted by the thought about setting up a new printer and downloading the software to get it all set up, I just wanted to print. To my surprise after plugging in, turning on and simply going file print… it worked! Now doesn’t that seem easy.

The Canon Selphy CP 1200 is a compact printer perfect for any home office, big or small. You can easily transport it from one room to the next and the set up is brainless (I didn’t use a manual). If you are a computer/color nerd like myself you would love watching the printer at work as you can see it printing each CMYK color step by step (as shown below). If you are printing regular photos you can set up the printer to have a border or not, or if you want to just print Instagram photos you can trim the edges and have perfectly sized Instaprinted squares.

As easy as this all sounds, the first go didn’t quite turn out as I wanted, the photo was too small and a bit cut off when it printed it out so I knew I had to change some settings first to make it perfect. To help you get the best results your first go ahead I have listed 5 tips below for how to print Instagram photos from your house.

5 Tips to Easily Print Instagram Photos from Home

1. Yes the printer is set up with wifi and you can print from your phone, however I found it easier to print from my computer, so if you are looking for the easiest route I would suggest using the computer.

2. Save time by choosing the Instagram photos you want to print all at once, instead of printing one, choosing the next, picking one… you get the idea… This is the way I started and it works a lot quicker if you save them all and print in one batch as you can also save time but not having to reset the printer settings for each print job.

3. When choosing your photos from Instagram make sure that they are good quality photos to start with. If you uploaded a blurry photo to Instagram and want to print that… the printer isn’t magic, it is going to look like what it looks like on Instagram.

4. When selecting file print a printer setting box will pop up. Within the printer options change size to postcard borderless. This will allow your image to go directly to the outside edge of the printer paper, allowing you to have to trim two sides of the printed image rather then all four sides. Also within the options change from Scale to Fit to Scale and then insert the percentage to scale, I did 50%. I would do one image first to test out your settings and make sure that it turned out how you like it before you go ahead with more copies.

5. Use a straight edge or at home cutting board to get the best cutting results for perfectly square images. Get creative with them, add them to a book, I am using my printed images for my Mushybooks baby book and am sure that there are lots more other great projects that can be DIY’ed with your awesome new printed Instagram images.

If you don’t already own a Canon Canada home printer you can purchase the Canon Selphy CP 1200 printer from their online store, (avaliable in both black and white).
