Just over a week ago my sister and brother-in-law brought their new little baby boy, Arlo Wolfe, into the world. My sister, Jolene, went into labour a week before her due date and we are so pleased that both mama and baby boy are happy and healthy.
Not only did I have the pleasure of snapping some photos of little Arlo at one week old, but I also had the absolute honour of being present and Arlo’s birth. I was so excited when I got the text that labour had started and I was going to be able to be present. With her labour falling on the weekend James was able to watch the kids and Evelyn and myself headed up to their home. The love and welcoming atmosphere of her home was abundant and I can understand fully why she prefers having a home birth. Jolene was present for the birth of Evelyn and it felt so right to be able to support and encourage her just like she did for me a few months before.
Little Arlo has a mighty powerful cry, he prefers to be snuggled up to mama and isn’t super fond of the camera… yet. I did manage to capture one little grin and it is just about the cutest thing.
Thank you Jolene and Benjamin for asking me to be a part of your sweet little baby’s birthday and also thank you for asking me to capture his little tiny features. Meet my newest nephew Arlo.
what a sweetheart!
