Mom Lifestyle

This year may be the quickest passing year (so it seems) yet! Still can’t believe that Halloween has come and gone. Before we switch gears on the blog to all things Christmas I wanted to make sure that I uploaded some photos from our 2017 Halloween adventures. Mostly for my sake to remember the kids Halloween Costumes, and partially because I know some of you wouldn’t mind to take a peek either.

Ezra went to school full on dressed in his costume while Sophie did her preschool in a set of dollar store fairy wings. I had a pretty good feeling that if she went in her dress, she may not have any dress left to wear at the end of it. After preschool we did a quick costume change (literally so quick, did it in the car) and then went Downtown Abbotsford. I love trick-or-treating Downtown Abbotsford, you often run into friends and it’s perfect for younger kids that you might not want to take out in the evening. This has become a bit of a tradition as we have gone for the last three (maybe even four) years.

We met up with my sister and her boys and the kids couldn’t get enough of it! They ate as they went, admired the spooky decor and were definitely is good spirits (but let’s be honest, why wouldn’t they be? Everyone they saw gave them a new candy ha!)

I got to snap some photos of the girls before we got going. Evelyn’s costume I made the night before (cost me under $10, win!). It was one of those things where you get this “awesome idea” and you really don’t know if it will turn out or not. Well, happy to say, it was just as I imagined it. I couldn’t find a Chip costume anywhere locally and so this is what we came up with. Sophie walked around saying, “I’m Belle,” and “Look Mom, there’s another Belle!” She was pretty good at placing her hands on her hips and walking with purpose. It really was the perfect costume for her.

After picking Ezra up from school we went to visit some family and that is where I attempted a photo of the three of them. Whelp. That was a fail. By this point Evelyn’s costume straps had ripped and didn’t stay around her waist or neck anymore. Ezra declined the ask of holding it in front of her and when Sophie volunteered, she decided she better give it a try instead. So there are what I got. (I do think that my MIL might have captured them as she starting clicking before I did, fingers crossed!)

Another win was picking up Ezra’s costume from the Big Box store in Abbotsford the weekend before Halloween. I thought we were getting a steal of a deal for $16 and then when she rang us up is was only just over $8. Even cheaper then Evelyn’s.. amazing! Note to self, always procrastinate Halloween shopping, cross your fingers that you find something good and save some money! ha!

In the evening we went to our old neighbourhood as where we live now is too rural for trick-or-treating (or neighbours said they have never gotten anyone, haha!) We bumped into friends from Ezra’s school, got to see some old neighbours and had a great time exploring. I couldn’t believe how quickly Sophie was moving from house to house this year. Kept up to her big brother for most of the night.

Hope you all had a great Halloween! Now who is ready for Christmas?
