Two years old is such a funny age to plan a birthday party for. One year we went all out and did a big floral first birthday party, this year I wasn’t sure what to do. For the weeks leading up I planned on not planning anything. With James working away I didn’t want to put too much on my plate and new that no matter how we celebrated the kids would have fun. Well, two days before and I invited three friends and their kids over for a Tea Party themed second birthday. Oops!
I just can’t help it. I LOVE decorating and seeing the kid’s faces when they see it. That’s totally what made me feel like it was worth it too. The look on her face when she got to walk about the table and look at everything set up.
There were tons of florals, tea cups, saucers, tea pots and so many yummy treats. This was one of my most spontaneous parties, usually I plan majorly in advance (like Sophie’s Unicorn themed party and my sister’s Dreamcatcher themed baby shower). With a quick trip to the party store for balloon to make the DIY balloon garland backdrop and another stop to a local thrift store I had pretty much everything I needed.
Food consisted of lots of fresh berries, those pre made rolls of dough for cookies, cinnamon rolls and croissants (the later two were a flop), cake mix and timbits. I spent a couple hours the night before putting the decor together and prepping the food so that in the morning it was just arranging florals, icing the cake and last minute touches. So happy with how this little Tea Party themed party turned out.

- Balloon Garland backdrop (DIY here)
- Multi layer cake with sprinkles
- Hanging string lights across the room
… and when the party came to a close the sugar rush started to kick in. The littlest girls cracked us up by hopping onto the table and showing us their best dance moves. Still giggling at the soother toss!
Press play ▶️ I don’t think I’ve watched a video so many times over… The table dancing, soother toss and hip swings. All just TOO GOOD! I got a DM saying that @theellenshow needs this and myself and @littlebeanxco (mother of the darling’s in purple) agree!! Lemme know below if you think so too ???? ha! Also got requests from people wanting to share the video so I’ve linked the direct link in bio to share on FB, lets keep the chuckle going cause these moves are gold!! Look out world!
