Since coming home from Mexico the kids have been talking about our trip and asking to go back, frequently. Because of that, and Evelyn’s birthday being in the middle of summer it only seemed fitting to have a Mexican themed kids birthday party. Or in this case; a three-esta!
This party was put together super last minute. By last minute I mean, like three days before the party happened.
I’m super happy with how it turned out, and with the help of a friend for taking on a last minute cookie order (@cookies.by.andria) and my mama for making the cake, it was a quick trip to the dollar store and party city for everything else.
Mexican Themed Kids Birthday Party Ideas
Three-esta party highlights:
• Cactus cookies by Cookies by Andria
• Fiesta cake
• DIY Balloon Garland backdrop
• Kids face painting by Rainbow Faces
• Mason jar Cactus lids by Mason Jar Merchant
I set up the dessert table and Lisa from Rainbow Faces inside and then had some kiddie pools and the sprinkler set up in the backyard.
We served up soft and hard (the ones I didn’t burn) tacos for lunch. It was one of the easiest to put together and had the help of family and friends to get everything finished up to enjoy together.
One of my favorite ways to dress up a party and something my kids love is the balloon garland, they always get so excited when they see me setting one up. I’ve done a few for different parties that you can see here for Halloween inspired and here with Eucalyptus.
Andria just started her @cookies.by.andria baking account and she did an amazing job creating Three-esta cookies. Just look at them, so impressed. I also mentioned to her that she might need to give me a little training session so I can try myself sometime.
My mama is a retired cake decorator and did an amazing job putting this cake together from a few inspiration photos. I’m always inspired by what she can create with cake and icing.
The mason jar glasses I gave away to the mama’s that came to the party (sorry friend if you are reading this and didn’t get one, I missed one of you!) ha! I was originally going to do it for the kids but thought that would be A LOT of of glasses to buy and well, the mom’s would love it more.
So thankful that we last minute decided to have Rainbow Faces at the party and she was actually available! The kids LOVED getting their faces painted, we let them pick out the design they wanted from her list.
Success! A simple and fun third birthday party for sweet (not so little anymore) Evelyn. She is such a joy in our family. Always smiling, constantly sweeter than ever before and most recently being a little sneak. ha!
Happy Birthday Evelyn!
