Leading Moms: Where Passion and Motherhood Come Together

August 9, 2016

SMALL BUSINESS FEATURE

As mothers we are each so unique, yet we all strive for the same things, confident in our life choices and being loving mothers. With our goals and passions in life aligned we can join together and learn from each other, talking about where we started and the journey we are on to get to where we want to be. Some may be at the beginning of their journey, still in discovery of who we are, while others have found their passions and are living their dreams and being a confident mother all at the same time. This is what I love about Vancouver’s Leading Moms events, connectivity.

It is important to learn from those ahead of us, those that have paved their path and can share knowledge on how they got there. On September 23, 2016 I am so excited to have the opportunity to connect, listen and learn from strong inspiring mothers during the Leading Moms event at the Vancity Theatre in downtown Vancouver.

Last year I had the opportunity to attend my first Leading Moms event and I was left encouraged, motivated and inspired. This event presented by Crisp Media (producer of Vancouvermom.ca) is something I have been looking forward to this year, take a peak at last year’s video as it recaps highlights and gives you the best idea of what Leading Mom’s is all about.

This year for the fifth annual Leading Moms event the theme is based around childhood and we will be hearing from some of the most talented and accomplished women in Vancouver, including:

  1. Miyoung Lee: Host and Producer at CBC News Vancouver
“Multiple Webster nominee and RTNDA winner, Miyoung Lee rings in her fourteenth year with CBC as the host and producer of CBC Vancouver News at 11 p.m.” … continued.
  2. Tara Teng: TV Host, Miss World Canada 2012 and Human Rights Activist
“Tara Teng is a TV host, Miss World Canada 2012, a human rights activist, and works with various organizations around the world to combat gender-based violence and human trafficking.” … continued
  3. Dr. Vanessa Lapointe: Registered Psychologist & Bestselling Author
“A Huffington Post parenting blogger, author of the best-selling book Discipline without Damage: How to get your kids to behave without messing them up, founder of The Wishing Star Developmental Clinic, and a regularly invited media guest, contributor, and speaker, Dr. Vanessa is known for bringing a sense of nurturing understanding to all of her work.” …continued
  4. Erin Treloar: Founder, RAW Beauty Talks
“Erin has interviewed over 200 women from across North America including Olympic gold-medalist, Jamie Anderson and Grammy award-winning artist, Colbie Caillat for RAW Beauty Talks, a special series that features women without make-up, Photoshop or filters.” … continued

plus a handful of other great speakers, all sharing their experiences and personal journeys through performance, video and intimate talks delivered straight from their hearts.
