The Last Week of Pregnancy

July 17, 2016

Style & Beauty

I am sitting here thinking about how on earth the time went by so quickly and how on earth I am going to complete my to do list in this last week of pregnancy. When I think back, it does kind of feel like I have been pregnant for a really long time, especially when I compare it to my blog life. Last month marked two years of blogging which also means I’ve been pregnant for just under half of my blog life.

Documenting the different stages through the blog and social media has been so much fun. I didn’t take near as many pictures as I would have liked or wrote down near enough notes about how I was feeling, the different cravings I was having or even just the unwanted aspects of pregnancy that we would all rather forget.

To start out the series of my pregnancy posts I of course shared our Gender Reveal DIY that was (for obvious reasons) one of the most popular posts this year. Who wouldn’t want to get the inside scoop on the gender though really.

Documenting my Top 7 cravings at 22 weeks is something I am super happy that I have done, some of those cravings faded towards the end but what stayed strong was pizza and rootbeer floats.

Some of my favorite pregnancy style photos were from a visit to the Abbotsford Tulip Festival. My sister-in-law and I took Sophie out to explore the fields, which ended up being more of Sophie playing in the mud and hopping over puddles and Hailey and I snapping photos testing out her new camera.

Bringing light to pregnancy and the discomforts that I was having I took a leap and wrote a more light hearted post on the “No Thank-You’s of Pregnancy”. This had to be one of the most talked about posts that I have written as many of my points come up in conversation with friends and acquaintances as I bumped into them the weeks after. It is good to never take yourself so seriously and that is exactly what this post is about.

Through all of this, the main thing that was lingering in my thoughts was choosing to try for a VBAC and making the choice to schedule oa C-Section or not. I got a little more personal and shared my experience with making my personal decision and I am so happy I did. Thank you to each of you for your comments and support for the decision I have come to and prayers as I head into the delivery stage of pregnancy.

We are so excited to meet out new baby girl, no matter how long the todo list is and how quickly this next week (maybe a bit longer) goes by we know that her arrival will come at the most perfect time, and everything else after that can wait as we enjoy time connecting and loving our sweet new baby girl.
