7 Tips For Back to School Shopping With Your Kids

  1. Check Their Closet First

First step, go through your child’s closet first. For us, I swear the same shirt and shorts have been worn all summer long and we are always surprised at how many clothes our kids actually have. Don’t assume there aren’t clothes in those drawers and make sure to see which ones fit and don’t fit. Once you get those sorted, you will have a much better idea of what you are going to really need for back to school.

  2. Make a List of What Your Child Needs

Now that you know what isn’t in your child’s closet, write down what you need. Start with the most important at the top so that you make sure that those are crossed off first. Don’t forget to write down the school supplies too, we will be doing that all at once!

  3. Choose to Shop Where You Can Get Everything at Once

Why make more then one day out of back to school shopping when you can go get it done all at once. Chose a local shopping centre that you can shop clothes and stationary supplies.

  4. Make a Day of it

Have fun and take a day dedicated to back to school shopping. If you are headed to Queensborough Landing they have restaurants (both take out and sit down) where you can enjoy a meal with the kids and/or grab some ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery.

  5. Stores with Kid’s Play Areas are a Bonus!

To say that I loved this play area at the Carters/OshKosh would be an understatement. While each of the kids tried on their clothes at least one of the kids was playing with a toy or watching the show. If you can’t accomplish have number 7 (don’t go outnumbered) this tip will come to the rescue big time!Tips for Back to School Shopping and Giveaway with Queensborough Landing

  6. Shop Where the Sales Are

Keep the costs low and keep your eyes on the sales. When we did some shopping last week we were so pumped at all the sales that Queensborough had through out their centre. You can even get a good look at the featured shop promotions on their website before visiting.

  7. Don’t Go Outnumbered

This might be the most important one, depending on the ages and obedience of your kids. For me, I couldn’t have done it without the help of my husband. We chose to go in the evening after he was off work and it was a great idea as there was less traffic on the drive over and less hustle in the stores. The kids had room to explore and find what they were looking for and it made the whole shopping experience better doing it as a family.

What’s even better then using these tips and having a successful Back to School shopping adventure? Using these tips and WINNING a $750 shopping spree from Queensborough Landing. Seriously though, could you image. All your shopping would be done, plus you would most likely be able to snatch up some extras! Yah, amazing right!

  • Excuse the language but...... We fucking did it!! Holy crap. 21.1 Kms you guys. We are pumped!

I had so so many thoughts and doubts going on in my head before and even during this run and Iโ€™m so glad I didnโ€™t listen to them. This was a goal of mine (even though I should have trained more, only three 7 km runs leading up ๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ˜ณ) that I now get to put a big check mark on. Heck yah!

James turned into some sort of wizard and passed the finish line at the 1 hour 50 minute mark and I made it over around 2 hours and 45 minutes. We did it babe!!!! #seawheeze #seawheeze2019 #halfmarathon #lululemon #vancouverisawesome

  • Happy Friday friends. Hoping you all get a chance to grab a drink and find a sweet spot to relax this weekend. Iโ€™ll be thinking of you as I complete a half marathon tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… As we head into the weekend I wanted to give a cheers to some ladies who inspire, encourage and motivate me in this space.

Motivated by @pyurvodkasoda (Power Your Own Unique Reality) theyโ€™ve asked who is my #PYURinspiration, so here we go. โ€” @vancitybusinessbabes Danielle, Sydnee and Nancy are a powerhouse team who constantly are encouraging me and so many other ladies in business. I love how they have taken their passion and grown it across Canada and into the US with @businessbabesco โ€” @ilikeherstylevancouver reaches out to me in their early days and have given me the opportunity to share a little piece of my heart continually in their issues as a contributor. Every issue I love how community focused they are, networking up a storm and creating such beautiful content for their community. โ€” @jamprco is a local PR company that Iโ€™ve had the pleasure of working with many times and their love for local and community is empowering.

These are just a few bossbabes that inspire me with what they are doing within this local community and on Instagram. I want to challenge you to also share who inspires you, tag them (or a few people) below who are constantly inspiring and encouraging you in business and life. • Do you ever have those moments in the midst of parenting and you stop for a second and think โ€œthis, this is a moment they are going to remember.โ€ Itโ€™s usually in those everyday moments, ones we do over and over. The other night, while James was watering the garden and the girls were running around I had that feeling of, โ€œthis is their childhood, this is what they will remember.โ€
