Summer Bucket List and Summer Bag Checklist including Women's sunglasses
Comments Off on Summer Activities Bucketlist & What to Pack in Your Bag

Summer has been in FULLLL swing here with my single momming it while James has worked away. I have been planning big day trips and making sure that I have packed up enough items to last us til the evening. Some of the most important items on my list are sun care products (sunscreen and sunglasses) and of course snacks! I’ve put together a list of some summer activities that we are checking off for summer as well as what’s in our summer activities bag.

Thankfully James got home a couple days ago and will be taking some time off so we will get some ample time to explore as a family. There are so many great places to explore in the Fraser Valley and Vancouver, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t get everything crossed off the summer bucketlist, but here’s to hoping.

Our Summer Bucketlist

  1. Destination Cultus: Cultus Lake Waterpark, Cultus Lake Adventure Park & Cultus Lake Marina
  2. Hike Lindeman Lake
  3. Richmond Night Market
  4. Harrison Hot Springs
  5. Blueberry Picking
  6. Abbotsford Agrifair
  7. The New Aldergrove Water Adventure Park
  8. Maan Farms Children’s Play Area
  9. Multiple Beach Days
  10. Drive in Movie Theatre

When packing up to go out on these adventures and activities there is one thing that comes with me everywhere, my sunglasses from IRIS.

Keeping your eyes protected from the sun is so important to keep them healthy. It’s fun to have multiple pairs of sunglasses to go with each outfit, but loading up on cheap sunglasses isn’t doing any benefits for protecting your eyes. As you can see above, I’ve chosen a frame that goes well with many different outfits, they have come with me on multiple adventures thanks to the great quality.

  • Evelyn’s looking at me like... “really I’m stuck with you all the time now 🤷🏼‍♀️” and I’m like, “ yah girl.. triple chin and all 🤣😂” but seriously... When we hopped into the car today Evelyn declared, “ YESSS MOMMY! We go pick up Sophie and Ezzie now!! Yayyyyy!” Poor thing had four more hours till it was really time.

Thanks for the snap @sugarplumlaurel | Stroller @diono
  • Getting new frames soon and want to hear what you all think. I picked out my top three styles and want to put it to a vote. Comment below which pair you like the best (swipe left to see all three)

I’m sharing all the details about my recent experience at @irisvisualgroup on the blog. Talking about what it was like going in with the girls, what age you should first bring your kids and what I’m going to start using during soccer games. Can you believe I have been playing half blind? Link in bio ( there's also more images of the three styles if you want to see before you vote). #ad #irisvisualgroup
  • Tomorrow starts the first full week of kindergarten for that confident girl on the right. I didn’t realize how emotional I was about the whole thing, until her first full day and I was basically a big giant mess. Here’s to hoping I can hold it together.
  • Overwhelmed by the number of you that responded to my stories today. Parenting is hard. Some days so much harder than others. The good thing is, we don’t have to do it alone. When we open up and share (like I did this morning to someone I’ve only met a few times) we give ourselves an opportunity to learn and grow. My hope for all of you is that through your journey, you constantly seek, grow and share. It makes a difference.
  • Drove out to @centralcitysurrey tonight with this girl. Lots of laughs as we tried on our five looks for this Friday’s fashion show! Say what!?
•
There’s going to be six of us walking the runway from 12:00 - 1:30 PM, plus tons of other activities happening right by the food court ($500 mall giveaway draw, selfie station, beauty demos and more) — come on out and cheer us on

  • I made simple syrup for the first time at home and two things:
1. DANG that's good!
2. It's WAYYYY easier then I anticipated
•
After cruising a handful of different simple syrup recipes online I combined a few that I thought would work, reduced the sugar and substituted cream of tartar for lemon juice. For some reason I never like to follow the directions the first time and always like to try out my own... it doesn't always work out, but this time it sure did!! You can see more of the steps in my stories for how to make your own simple syrup and sparkling water using the new @sodastreamcanada FIZZI One Touch at home. I always love when things turn out easier than expected! Does anyone want the full recipe on the blog?
