Pumpkin patches are kind of my thing, every fall it is one something that I get the most excited about. I was thinking to myself this year… what am I going to do when my kids get older?? Yah, I will still probably go to all the same pumpkin patches in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

I put together five popular pumpkin patches in Abbotsford and Chilliwack as a quick resource for people not as familiar with the area.

I’ve grown up in the Fraser Valley so all of these places are very familiar to me. I know, however, that people that don’t live as close don’t realize just how much is out there way and all the family friendly farms the Fraser Valley has to offer.

In no particular order, because they are all unique and have different favourite things at each patch — here are 5 Pumpkin Patches in Abbotsford and Chilliwack

Please Note: The majority of the farms require you to pre-purchase tickets online due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions. Be sure to check their website to confirm.

Pumpkin Patches in Abbotsford and Chilliwack

  1. Taves Family Farm (AKA The Apple Barn)

    333 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC

I’ve been going to Taves Family Farm for as long as I can remember. We make sure to go every year, sometimes even more than once. Their hay ride stops at a large pumpkin patch near the back of the property, giving time to pick out a pumpkin or five and then you hop back on to head back.

Their animals are so friendly, the kids love going in and petting the baby goats and watching the bunnies every time. My kids would say their personal favourite feature is the massive twisting slides that you can climb up to at the top of the barn and come whipping down.

PERSONAL FAVE FEATURE: You have to visit Taves Estate Cidery while you are there. I suggest grabbing a tasting flight to try all the different Barnyard ciders that are offered.
  2. Maan Farms & Estate Winery

    790 McKenzie Road, Abbotsford, BC

If you have a full day to explore, Maan Farms is a good one to go to. They have so much to offer. pro tip: Go during the week if you can and avoid the weekends. We went a couple weekends before Halloween and I was blown away with the amount of people, as I usually go during the week when it is a lot less busy.

If you have kids, I can guarantee you they won’t be bored exploring the farm. My kids are always running off to the zip line, the tube and tire play ground as well as running through the pumpkin patch and strawberries, when in season. This is somewhere where we have been the most often lately as we have purchased seasons passes in the past.

PERSONAL FAVE FEATURE: Mama Maan makes a tasty Butter Chicken. You can visit the market and get food to bring home or ever order food and wine to enjoy while on the farm. Give the butter chicken samosas a try!
  3. Willowview Farms

    288 McCallum Rd, Abbotsford, BC

If you are looking for somewhere to do for a few photos and to grab pumpkins and get out of there Willowview Farms is the place for you. It doesn’t cost anything to go and you can roam the pumpkin field with much less people then most of the other patches.

They usually always have some REALLY big pumpkins that is fun to sit on and snap photos of. Always impressed with how large they will grow.

PERSONAL FAVE FEATURE: No cost to attend the farm, typically this would include their playground, petting zoo and pumpkin patch. However, note that the playground and petting zoo are closed during covid.
  4. Chilliwack Corn Maze

    41905 Yale Road, Chilliwack, BC

Even though Chilliwack Corn Maze is the name, don’t let it deceive you. For far too long I thought that it was just a corn maze. Boy, was I WRONG! There is SOOO much to offer here.

The space is so perfectly spread out from a cute farmyard ride for the younger kids, tricycle track, hay mazes and obstacle courses, slides, bouncy pillows, corn mazes and so much more! It’s worth the visit 1000%

PERSONAL FAVE FEATURE: They offer a fireside music series. I was able to go with a group of girlfriends, we roasted s’mores, explored the maze and beautiful property and got to drink wine and listen to some great local music.
  5. Petey’s Pumpkin Patch

    9423 Gibson Rd, Chilliwack, BC

Petey’s Pumpkin Patch is the only farm on the list that I haven’t visited. Adding it to the list of things to do so that I can share my honest opinion of the farm.

Their website shows that they offer a petting zoo, train rides, interactive games and have four pumpkin patches! Also, kids under 2 are free.

Apple Picking Abbotsford, BC

  1. Taves Family Farm

    333 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC

Taking the kids Apple picking was a first for us this year. We filled up a few bags at Taves Family Farm and they were delicious. We went just before a long road trip and the kids gobbled these apples up along the drive. Such a good idea!
  2. Willowview Farms

    288 McCallum Rd, Abbotsford, BC

Fresh apples are always a good idea! Willowview farms has rows and rows of apples for u-pick. What’s even better, their daughter is an excellent baker and you can find lots of great ideas of how to use those apples when baking on her website.

Have fun this fall season, can’t wait to see all the pumpkin patch photos for the weeks to come on Instagram.
