One part of me is craving the super hot days of summer and then the other part of me is wondering if that is going to lead to extra swollen pregnancy feet and being uncomfortable. The most common statement I think I have received this pregnancy is something along the lines of “Good luck making it through summer”.
This first few hot days I am not going to lie, they took me by surprised and I was feeling super exhausted. Since taking that into consideration and being more conscious about staying hydrated I have seen such a difference. Making the effort to do more walking and embracing the weather has also allowed me to feel more comfortable in the heat. Being pregnant in the summer shouldn’t be something that is feared or have warning labels stuck to it, but rather something to look forward to.
So instead of focusing on the heat and how it could possibly make me feel uncomfortable this summer I am going to look forward to the benefits of the heat. This summer I will have a solid month together with both of the kids giving them attention and exploring before baby makes her arrival. For all you pregnant Mommas out there this summer, don’t let the usual comments get you down, but instead focus on the benefits you get from being pregnant this summer and enjoy your time (whether the feet swell or not it won’t last forever).
